Melanie Davis Jones is a  teacher and a children's author. She lives in Warner Robins,  Georgia with her husband and three sons. She also works at  David A. Perdue Primary School. She loves working with  Kindergarten students and introducing them to the wonderful  world of books. Her hobbies include reading, of course, and  going to baseball games, soccer games, and taking fun trips with  her family. She also spends lots of time at the library.

I Ain't Gonna Paint No More! By Karen Beaumont Illustrated by David Catrow This book makes my heart sing! It is a wonderful explosion of color and comedy as a little boy uses his body for a canvas. The child repeats the rhythmic refrain "I ain't gonna paint no more, no more, I ain't gonna paint no more.......... but just can't resist one more dab of color. Catrow's illustrations are a delicious mix of black and white in the beginning giving way to a colorful collage of chaos, capturing the true essence of a child. Kids explore color words and anticipate the rhyming body parts and all to the catchy tune of "It Ain't Gonna Rain No More." Beaumont and Catrow have created a picture book that is pleasing to this reader's palette.
